Project THRIVE

Updates from our Partners at the Human Rights Campaign

The School Social Work Association of America is a proud partner of Project Thrive. Project Thrive is a multi-year national campaign to create more equitable, inclusive support systems, and communities for LGBTQ+ youth. Project THRIVE builds the skills and capacities of all youth-serving professionals to better meet the needs of LGBTQ+ young people. As School Social Workers, we play a critical role in this work.

Recently, SSWAA participated in a partner call with Project Thrive, and is excited to share new resources available through the HRC.

Welcoming Schools

The Welcoming Schools Program just released a new e-learning course about supporting trans and non-binary students. You can see a teaser here. National Day of Reading 2025 is right around the corner. You can register to participate or learn more about the National Day of Reading here.

CDC Webinar

On October 23, 2024, Project THRIVE hosted a webinar with the CDC on their new YRBS data that includes, for the first time ever, data on transgender youth. Click here for a recording of that webinar that you are free to download.

Latine LGBTQ+ Resources

The HRC Foundation has released a plethora of Latine LGBTQ+ resources to recognize Latine and Hispanic Heritage Month. These include the Latine LGBTQ+ Youth Report, and a bilingual webinar split into an English half and Spanish half which are all linked below.

Project THRIVE Webinar Series

The Fall 2024 Project THRIVE Webinar Series, sponsored by the NEA, includes two more webinars scheduled before the end of the year and is welcome to all attendees. You can find all scheduled upcoming webinars and recordings of previous webinars below.
