Each year, SSWAA hosts Board elections for open positions on the SSWAA Board of Directors. Board Members are responsible for providing strategic leadership, governance oversight, and fiduciary responsibility for the Association. Serving on the SSWAA Board is an opportunity to contribute to advancing the profession of school social work, connect with colleagues from across the country, and help strengthen SSWAA’s mission and impact.

Election Process

Applicant: Anyone who submits a nomination application.

Candidate: Applicants selected by the Nominations Committee to appear on the ballot (after interview and training).

Nominee Slate: Each open position will have 2-3 candidates slated.

Application Process
  1. Complete the Nomination Application Form

  2. Participate in a virtual interview with the Nominations Committee

  3. Complete a required Board training session

  4. Engage with members during campaign period

  5. Participate in at least one live candidate Q&A panel
