2021 National School Social Work Conference

BALTIMORE, MARYLAND

March 22 - March 25, 2021

Pivot is a term meaning a change of direction.  Many individuals and organizations have had to pivot during these challenging times.  SSWAA has had to pivot as well.

The SSWAA Board and Executive Director have continued to monitor the COVID-19 pandemic throughout the spring.   We have spent considerable time reviewing data, discussing options, and weighing alternatives.  At this time, the SSWAA Board has made the difficult decision to not hold an in-person conference for 2020.  We are disappointed to not be able to gather together and network through the National Conference, but do want to keep the safety of our members as a top priority.

SSWAA will have a Virtual Conference this summer, June 29th & June 30th – more information will be coming very soon!  This virtual opportunity will provide needed CEUs and will contain useful information as we all continue to address the needs of our students, schools, and communities around COVID-19 and anticipated return to school in the fall, whatever form that may take.

In the meantime, SSWAA has been able to shift our in-person National Conference to March 22-25, 2021 at our same location in Baltimore, MD.  We are thrilled to bring many of the same programmatic features planned for 2020 to you in 2021 and registration will be re-opening soon!  *Please note our new dates include a slight shift in schedule with our Pre-Conference on Monday, followed by the Full Conference Tuesday through mid-day Thursday.  We absolutely look forward to the day we can gather together and reconnect!  We hope many of you can join us in Baltimore, MD, March 22-25, 2021.

This year's theme is sure to highlight the vital role that School Social Workers play in school communities as they promote welcoming school environments, offer hope and meaningful support, and guide students and families through challenges and adversity.
