12th Delegate Assembly: 2020 - Virtual Meeting

Our 12th Delegate Assembly (DA) Meeting was held virtually in July 2020. There were 77 individuals in attendance who represented 26 affiliate states. Additionally, the DA was pleased to welcome attendees from 5 observer states who were interested in participating in the conversation and learning more about affiliation with SSWAA. Our delegates joined the SSWAA Board and leadership to discuss important trends in School Social Work and ways that we can work together (state and national efforts) to improve the impact of our profession.

11th Delegate Assembly: 2019 in Alexandria, VA

Our 11th Delegate Assembly (DA) Meeting was held in exciting Alexandria, VA in July 2019. Our delegates from 25 affiliate states joined the SSWAA Board and leadership to discuss important trends in School Social Work and ways that we can work together (state and national efforts) to improve the impact of our profession. The meeting was a launching point of our National Public Awareness Campaign.

10th Delegate Assembly: 2018 in Charleston, SC

Our 10th Delegate Assembly (DA) Meeting was held in lovely Charleston, SC on July 12-13, 2018.  Our delegates from 25 affiliate states joined the SSWAA Board and leadership to discuss important trends in School Social Work and ways that we can work together (state and national efforts) to improve the impact of our profession.  The meeting was an inspiring and joyful time of gathering with our professional colleagues from across the country.

9th Delegate Assembly: 2017 in Alexandria

The School Social Work Association of America was pleased to host its Delegate Assembly Meeting in Alexandria, VA on July 21-23, 2017. SSWAA has 30 affiliate states and 26 of those states were present at this important meeting, discussing current issues facing our profession. School Social Workers are vital to work in schools! Thank you to each state for their valuable contribution!

 

 

8th Delegate Assembly: 2016 in Bloomington MN

SSWAA held its 8th Delegate Assembly meeting July 21-23, 2016 in Bloomington, Minnesota, hosting 21 of its 29 affiliate states. SSWAA takes pride in bringing state organization leaders together each summer to discuss practice issues and trends and to share input with the SSWAA Board and staff. This is a valuable time and participants leave feeling connected and inspired!

 

 

7th Delegate Assembly: 2015 in Alexandria

On July 10 - 12, 2015, 21 Delegates from  SSWAA's 29 Affiliate States met to discuss important topics related to the profession of School Social Work and to assist with the vision of SSWAA!   This year's meeting was held at the Residence Inn in Alexandria, VA (across the river from Washington, DC) immediately followed by SSWAA's Summer Leadership & Legislative Institute. We were especially pleased to have Carmen Cooper-Davis observe as a representative from Alabama who is interested in developing a state association.  

 

 

6th Delegate Assembly: 2014 in Denver

The 6th Delegate Assembly Meeting was held July 18-20, 2014 at the very hospitable Airport Staybridge Suites Hotel in Denver where 19 Delegates of SSWAA's 29 Affiliate States met to discuss positions on critical issues impacting School Social Workers, etc.

 

5th Delegate Assembly: 2013 in Alexandria

SSWAA held its 5th Delegate Assembly meeting in Alexandria, VA July 19 - 21, 2013 where 16 delegates from 28 states were represented.

 

 

4th Delegate Assembly Meeting:  2012 in Chicago

The Delegate Assembly met in Chicago from August 5 -7, 2012 for some more in-depth discussion and work regarding the role of the Delegate Assembly, Affiliate States, and SSWAA Board as we move forward.  For a compiled report from 3 state Delegates, click here.

 

 

3rd Delegate Assembly: 2012 in Boston

On March 31, 2012, SSWAA President Michelle Alvarez welcomed delegates from 19 of the 24 state associations who were present for the 3rd Delegate Assembly meeting held at the end of the National School Social Work Conferencesm in Boston to continue an era of increased participation of the membership and state associations in the governance of our national organization for the mutual benefit of all.  Topics discussed included: SSWAA Strategic Plan, Timeline Document of recent year's events impacting SSWAA, SSWAA Awards, "Highly Qualified" School Social Workers Statement, 'National Model" of School Social Work, National Research Agenda, Research Topics, the SSWAA Website,  Support to States Committee and the Summer Legislative/Leadership Institute.
