The ABC's of the DSM-5 (8:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.)
Presented by Brenda Cook, MNS, CPNP. Brenda is a Clinical Nurse Specialist with BJC Behavioral Health and will outline the new diagnostic categories in the DSM-5, describe the new disorders that have been included and discuss current controversy surrounding the DSM-5 and the impact is has on treatment planning.
A Look at the Relationship between Homelessness and Education (12:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.)
Presented by Deidra Thomas-Murray, LMSW. As the homeless coordinator for Saint Louis Public Schools, Deidra will present on the impact of homelessness on the school-aged child. She will offer ways for school social workers to better support those families as well as bring awareness to one's district.
