SSWAA Summer Leadership and Legislative Institute
July 21 -24, 2013
"Raising our Voices for School Social Work: A State and National Partnership"
Experience first-hand SSWAA's advocacy to advance the profession of School Social Work and strengthen investments in school-based services. Sharpen your advocacy skills and renew our efforts to keep School Social Workers at the table in policy discussions at the local, state and national levels. This is a FANTASTIC OPPORTUNITY to learn and put into practice your advocacy skills on behalf of school social work. We have a lot of folks who can attest to what a GREAT EXPERIENCE it is to come to Washington, meet members of Congress and/or their staff, hear from some our partners in other national organizations, and just HAVE FUN!
Advocacy is part of leadership! However, if you're just starting out in the field, are new to your state association, or in a state that does not yet have an association, this is a prime opportunity for you to BUILD YOUR LEADERSHIP SKILLS! Over the last few years we have had a number of members join the national board of SSWAA who became excited about professional leadership through this summer meeting.
We can guarantee that you will leave DC looking forward to coming back the following summer!
Registration is now available. REGISTER now to ensure you get the special room rate and to secure your place at the conference!
In her own words: Listen to Myrna's invitation to come to DC! We're hoping to see ALL of you in Washington in July!
