Webinar Description:

This webinar covers a background on children’s reactions to disasters and include a presentation on school-based mental health programs designed to be delivered after a traumatic event. Additionally, findings from a series of studies on a social emotional program, the Journey of Hope, will be presented and implications for future research will be discussed.

Learning objectives:

1. To define the short and long-term impact of disaster exposure on children

2. To understand risk and protective factors that mitigate adverse outcomes

3. To identify evidence-based programs designed to be delivered in the school setting after a disaster.


The School Social Work Association of America (SSWAA) is pleased to offer a webinar series  on research topics related to school social work.    Please note that all webinars are being recorded and will be available even if you are not able to attend during the actual webinar event.

Member rate for individual Webinars will be $25 (1.5 CEUs per Webinar) or a Package of 6 Webinars for $100 (7.5 CEUs available).  Non-Member Rate for individual Webinars will be $40 and $140 for a Package of 5 Webinars.
